Cambridge bus operator, Go Whippet, has chosen Europe’s leading mobile ticket app provider to integrate a new payment and m ticketing solution across its services.

Founded in 1919, Whippet is now part of the Ascendal Group and runs local bus services in Cambridgeshire including along The Busway, the longest guided busway in the world.

“We’re extremely excited to offer this new and streamlined technology to our customers and improve their travel experience with us. Corethree is undoubtedly the industry leader for providing efficient and seamless mobile phone ticketing. Traffic congestion in Cambridge can be very bad at times, so speeding up boarding time by enabling customers to purchase m tickets in advance will help significantly. It also matches the modern and efficient busway system we operate along, which provides a fast traffic-free route between Cambridge Railway Station and the Biomedical Campus.” comments Matthew Wooll, Commercial Manager for Whippet coaches.

Ashley Murdoch, CEO Corethree states “The days of scrambling around for loose change in a pocket for a bus ticket are well and truly behind us, and mobile ticketing delivers quick payments and smooth transactions for both business and consumer. We’re delighted to be working with Whippet Coaches to deliver outstanding services to its customer base.”

The new mobile ticketing App gives passengers the opportunity to purchase a range of m-tickets including packs of Day Rovers, weekly passes and Carnet-style 10-journey tickets. It can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play on Apple or Android mobile phones.
