WATFORD, November 2016 - Leading transport operator, First Bus, has agreed a contract extension with prominent UK m-ticketing app developer, Corethree, to continue the integration of its award-winning mobile ticket and data solutions.
First Bus rolled out Corethree’s mobile ticketing apps in March 2014 and has since undertaken 41 operations nationwide. The single-sign-on App allows users to choose from any of the First Bus services all over the country via one account, using the newly developed area picker feature providing total flexibility of location for First Bus customer.
First Bus, which operates around a fifth of bus services outside London, became the inaugural operator to use ‘selfie’ security for high value tickets. This clever feature allows the passenger to attach a picture of themselves to their high value ticket, for example, a student annual pass, which can only be changed or edited by First Bus; protecting both the customer and the operator from any attempted fraud.
“We have successfully sold more than 4,000,000 m-tickets of various types since beginning our partnership with Corethree, including daily, weekly, monthly or even annual. We are pleased to extend our contract with Corethree and excited about building on our success and developing further innovations” says James Timperley, Retail Development Director at First Bus.
The partnership has been Corethree’s most successful m-ticketing solution to date, continually breaking records as bus users in ever increasing numbers make the switch from cash to m-tickets.
"Service capabilities of Corethree’s mobile ticketing solutions have enhanced significantly since we launched with First Bus, and we are delighted to continue our partnership with them. Passengers will continue to benefit from quicker boarding times and more payment options when accessing the bus using our ubiquitous m-commerce platform, Core Engine.” says Ashley Murdoch, CEO Corethree.
