Corethree develops revolutionary new Santander Cycles app with Transport for London

Watford, May 2015: Corethree, the UK's leading m-ticketing developer and m-commerce specialist has built the application that Transport for London's new Santander Cycles scheme will use. The new app will help to revolutionise cycle travel in London and is predicted to significantly increase numbers using the cycles.

It will now be possible to manage the process from registration to docking the cycle at your destination in around 5 minutes. The new app will allow users to:

  • register an account using their bank card
  • find their nearest docking point using up to the minute information about which docking stations have cycles and spaces available
  • get a release code instantly
  • plan their route (either manually or from a recommended route using TfL's real-time cycling Journey Planner)
  • find a docking point at their destination
  • buy 24 hour and annual subscriptions
  • receive notifications showing the cost at the end of a hire period;
  • view recent journeys and charges
  • tells users exactly when their hire period has started - and confirms the bike has been securely docked at the end of a hire period;
  • smart design by Corethree means it can be constantly upgraded and improved by TfL and Santander with the latest app technology available.

Ashley Murdoch, CEO Corethree says,

"Developing the new Cycles application has been a very exciting project for Corethree. We have been able to include many innovative new features that will make using the Cycle scheme in London simple, quick and intuitive. We are proud to be working with Transport for London and Serco on the development."
