Cancer Research UK has teamed up with Corethree, offering a mobile service to help in the fight against cancer that combines information on signs and symptoms, charity shop location finder, and a highly innovative way to make donations via Corethree's ground breaking secure mobile wallet technology. It’s now even easier to do your good deed for the day.
The mobile service will also support an innovative round-up facility, in conjunction with up-coming services from Corethree's public transport clients. When purchasing additional items such as transport tickets via Core (Corethree's service portal app), customers will be able to opt-into rounding-up the value of their purchase, with those extra few pence going to Cancer Research UK.
The service is now live on iPhone, Blackberry and Android (with Windows 7 following shortly). Core by Corethree is available to download through Apple's App Store and Google Play as well as direct downloads for Blackberry users. For quick and easy signup on smartphones, visit http://getcore.mobi/cancerresearchuk. Once logged in, using the Cancer Research UK service is simplicity itself, as well as providing access to the many other free services available to all Core users.
Michael Docherty, Head of Digital at Cancer Research UK said, "The development of this solution is just another innovative way Cancer Research UK is harnessing mobile technology to reach its wide network of supporters".
"An app that makes donating quick and easy offers us a great opportunity to grow our income and with more developments in the pipeline, we look forward to offering our supporters one simple and convenient way to donate, fundraise and find out more about our life‐saving work."
Later developments to the solution will include a Cancer Research UK shop, offering the ability to buy merchandise such as bags and clothing. In addition, provision is being made for interaction with the charity's fundraising events such as Race for Life.
Cancer Research UK are launching mid-July, with the service available to users today.
